Banana bread meets peanut butter cup in a protein bar that holds together for lunchboxes, desk drawers and post-gym raids. Each bar brings 10.7g of protein, melty dark chocolate and real mashed banana.

How to Make Banana and Chocolate Chip Oat Bars

  • Ingredients

    • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
    • 2 large eggs
    • ⅓ cup milk
    • ½ cup smooth peanut butter
    • 2 tbsp grapeseed oil
    • ⅓ cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup self-raising plain flour
    • 60g True Protein WPI 90 in French Vanilla
    • 1 cup rolled oats
    • 160g dark chocolate chips
  • Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-forced and line a 20 × 20 cm baking dish with baking paper.
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, peanut butter, grapeseed oil and brown sugar. Stir in the mashed bananas.
    3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, protein powder and rolled oats.
    4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold through the dark chocolate chips.
    5. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and spread evenly.
    6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
    7. Allow to cool completely before slicing into 12 bars.

    True tip: prepare these for meal prep and toast it in the sandwich press to serve with greek yoghurt.
