Achieve Your Goal

Muscle Gain & Performance

Ensuring your body receives a regular supply of protein is essential for supporting lean muscle growth. Protein consists of amino acids which are the building blocks of muscle and allow us to build, repair and maintain muscle tissue.

Building muscle mass essentially involves the process of lifting heavier weights, tearing the muscle fibres and then rebuilding them stronger and bigger and this is where regular protein intake comes in. Current research indicates roughly 2.2g of protein per kg of body weight is required for building muscle. For an 80kg male this equates to 176g/day which equates to roughly 30g-40g per meal spread over 5 meals.

Protein can be attained from a wide range of wholefood sources such as fish, chicken, and beef as well as non-animal sources such as quinoa, green peas and nuts. Protein can also be attained in supplement form, most commonly in powders such as whey protein powder, pea protein powder or rice protein powder. These powders allow for a convenient way to add additional protein calories into your daily diet and assist with muscle building needs.

  • Faster Recovery
  • Energy Boost
  • Muscle Growth

Weight Loss & Toning

The lowest calorie way to consume protein is in a protein shake. Products such as Whey Protein Isolate have extremely low levels of carbs and fats, meaning the calories you consume are virtually pure protein. If you’re looking to minimise your caloric intake and burn any excess fat, a high protein diet is a must. Not only will a high protein diet ensure your body draws its energy from excess fat stores, it’ll also make sure you don’t feel hungry and crave unplanned cheat meals.

Nevertheless, we wouldn’t advise you rely on protein powder as your only source of protein. Rather it should be used to supplement a well-rounded diet.

Apple & Cinnamon

First off, purchase a bag (500g for the faint-hearted, 1kg for those who are familiar with True Protein's ability to offer top quality products) of this flavour, and upon receiving it, tear it open. Behold - a SPOT-ON waft of apple and cinnamon will hit you, and you will then proceed to consume it with elation and gratitude, because True Protein has again come through with a naturally flavoured vegan protein that provides you with all the goods, and none of the artificial nonsense. THANK YOU, TRUE PROTEIN! P.S. Add one scoop of apple and cinnamon VEGAN85 to a mug, with one tbsp (or more, if you're a choc fiend like me) of cacao, and then add (little by little) some plant milk, until you reach a thick, batter-like consistency. Then, add a dash of maple syrup, and stir it in. It's a divine snack!

Rich Chocolate

I am lactose intolerant and was looking for an alternative to the WPI/WPC proteins. This one fits the bill perfectly. I love the taste and the consistency. It is easy to blend as well, and does not contain too much sugar!

French Vanilla

This is my favourite vegan protein to date. Tastes amazing especially with banana in a smoothie. Blends smooth, minimal ingredients and doesn’t bloat me at all.

Rich Chocolate

If you're like me an you're worried about having a weird flavour in a vegan protein, then you'll be pleasantly surprised. This was my first vegan protein and it tastes amazing. I am mixing it with Almond milk and a bit of water. Epic

A great plant based protein option Rating: 5 out of 5
Natural

The Vegan85 has a great taste and isn't over sweetened. This product mixes well and has a lighter consistency than other plant based proteins that I've tried.

Good for Vegan I guess Rating: 3 out of 5
Rich Chocolate

I have no problems consuming animal/dairy products, but thought I'd try this (Rich Chocolate flavour) because I usually get Vanilla WPC and wanted some variety, and this one is highly rated. I guess it must be really good on the Vegan protein scale, based on the reviews, but the chalky residue left in the mouth isn't very pleasant... at least it dissipates quickly enough and there's no lingering taste. It's okay, but I'd only recommend it if your Vegan convictions compel you.

Suggested Use

Add 1 Large TP Scoop (30g) to 200ml-250ml of liquid of your choice. Shake and consume. Consume 1-3 servings daily or as required.

True Protein recommends as a guideline 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight. This recommendation is based on the assumption that your goals are to build lean muscle and enhance recovery. This translates to an 80kg person taking roughly 120g to 160g of protein per day. We recommend that you fulfill this quota through a combination of wholefoods and protein supplementation.
