In the morning the body has been starved of nutrition for generally around 6-8 hours and this makes it a critical time to supply amino acids, and in some cases fast releasing carbohydrates immediately upon rising.

The body is in a catabolic state (muscular breakdown) after such a long period without nutrition and therefore it is paramount that get out of this state as soon as possible. We recommend a whey protein shake immediately upon rising, which will rapidly supply amino acids, followed by a secondary meal shortly after that consists of slow releasing, low GI carbohydrates, protein and fats
