Head of Finance - Full-time

About True:

At True, we're on a mission to create a world of healthier people.

True Protein was born out of a desire to empower our community in living energetic and fulfilled lives. Since 2014, we have pioneered a new standard in health and performance products, delivering natural, authentic and transparent products without compromise.

This all begins within our own True Team, a high performing group of like-minded individuals who truly believe in and strive to embody our company values in all that we do, both in our personal and professional lives. Australian owned but looking to conquer the world, we are continuously growing our team with creative and community-minded people.

About the role:

We're seeking a commercially minded Head of Finance who thrives at the intersection of strategy, analysis, and execution. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll partner closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Department Heads across the business to provide actionable insights, drive financial performance, and help shape the future direction of True.

You'll be responsible for leading end-to-end financial planning and analysis activities and act as a true business partner to teams like Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, ensuring financial insights are embedded into day-to-day and long-term decision-making. You'll also oversee the company's financial reporting obligations, ensure compliance with all relevant tax and regulatory requirements, and maintain strong internal controls and governance practices.

We're looking for someone who can see beyond the numbers — someone who is energised by growth, comfortable challenging the status quo, and passionate about bringing strategic financial thinking into a fast-moving, high-performance environment.

What your day to day will look like:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team and Department Heads to provide financial guidance that supports key business decisions and long-term planning
  • Lead commercial analysis across product lines, customer segments, and sales channels to identify growth opportunities and improve profitability
  • Partner with the Sales and Marketing teams on pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and sales forecasting
  • Develop and refine business cases and financial models for new product launches, capital investments, and strategic initiatives
  • Own and deliver monthly performance reporting, providing clear commentary and insights that drive accountability and action
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and margin improvement levers across the value chain
  • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to optimise inventory, reduce working capital, and improve cash flow
  • Support the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and market conditions
  • Conduct scenario analysis and financial modelling to support agile, informed decision-making
  • Bring a commercial lens to strategic projects and business reviews, always connecting the dots between financial outcomes and operational drivers
  • Own all statutory financial reporting obligations, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Manage regulatory compliance requirements, including tax reporting (GST, FBT, income tax), payroll obligations, and liaising with external auditors and regulators as needed
  • Oversee internal financial controls, ensuring the business maintains strong governance, risk management practices, and audit readiness

What you'll bring to the team:

  • CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial finance, ideally within FMCG, retail, or e-commerce
  • A strong grasp of financial modelling, analysis, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency with Excel; experience with NetSuite, Power BI
  • Solid understanding of commercial drivers such as pricing, trade spend, cost control, and profitability analysis
  • Exceptional business partnering abilities with the capacity to communicate complex financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Why You'll Love Working at True:

  • Fun, dynamic, and collaborative work environment
  • 4 additional leave days per year
  • Onsite staff gym, sauna and ice bath
  • Northern Beaches location with onsite parking
  • Generous discounts on True Products
  • Frequent team events and celebrations
  • Plenty of learning and development opportunities
  • Flexible working hours when required to suit your lifestyle.
